We caught up with Andy to reflect on his journey so far, the projects he most enjoys and what most excites him about the future 👏 Take a look at what he had to say below!

What are the total number of years you have been in the industry?
With a total of 22 years in the industry, my career started in the curtain walling sector. I joined Komfort 15 years ago as a Project Coordinator, advancing to become Head of Contracts.
What do you enjoy most about working in this industry?
What I enjoy most about working in this industry and my role at Komfort is the opportunity to collaborate with great people to deliver high-quality projects that we can all be proud of. It’s incredibly rewarding to see a project come to life, knowing the teamwork, problem-solving and effort that have gone into it. I also value the variety each day brings, the opportunity to continuously learn and the chance to support others in their development just as I’ve been supported throughout my own career.
What are you excited about most for Komfort’s future?
I’m genuinely excited to see where Komfort goes next. We’ve got a great team of people who care about what they do, and that shows in the work we deliver. As we continue to grow, I think we’re in a really strong place to push boundaries, whether that’s through innovation, better ways of working, or just continuing to raise the bar for quality and service in our sector. The momentum is there, and it’s great to be a part of it.
What is the most rewarding project you have been involved with?
It’s hard to pick just one, as every project brings its own set of challenges and highlights, but for me, the most enjoyable and rewarding projects tend to be those in the education and healthcare sectors. There’s a deeper sense of purpose when you’re contributing to buildings that genuinely make a difference in people’s lives. Two that stand out are Project Oriel – the new eye hospital, and Peebles High School.
Komfort are currently on site with both, and being involved in creating environments that will support patients, students and staff for years to come brings a level of satisfaction that goes beyond just delivering a high-end installation. Don’t get me wrong, I love a high-end office fit-out as much as anyone, but there’s something special about knowing the work we do helps shape spaces where people learn, heal and grow.
Thank you Andy for everything you do.
