When direct reuse is no longer an option, Komfort provides a comprehensive service to demount, strip, and reclaim 100% of used aluminium, steel, and glass. By partnering exclusively with UK-based manufacturers, we ensure these materials are diverted from landfill and transformed into high-quality, low-carbon building solutions, keeping the supply chain local, transparent, and efficient.

Impact in Action: Our 2025 Benchmarks

We don’t just commit to recycling; we measure it. In 2025, we successfully reclaimed the following quantities, ensuring they were either recycled back into the industry or converted into sustainable energy :

  • 37 Tonnes of Glass Recycled
  • 36 Tonnes of Aluminium Recycled
  • 25 Tonnes of Steel Recycled

As we expand the Reclaim to Recycle initiative across more projects, we look forward to seeing these figures grow year-on-year, further reducing the embodied carbon of the UK’s built environment.

The UK Closed-Loop Recycling Scheme

At Komfort, environmental stewardship is built into the lifecycle of every component. Our robust closed-loop scheme ensures that raw materials retain their value long after they leave a building.

  • Aluminium: We are exceptionally proud that every reclaimed aluminium component is carefully collected and responsibly smelted back into the UK market. This process significantly minimises industrial waste and reduces the carbon-intensive reliance on primary ore, a clear demonstration of our commitment to a circular manufacturing sector.
  • Glass: Similarly, our glass recycling initiative ensures that waste glass is returned to UK manufacturers to be used as cullet. This recycled content is essential for lowering the melting temperature of furnaces, which significantly reduces the energy required to produce the next generation of low-carbon glass.

Client Brief: The previous glazing and door systems were removed from site to satisfy sustainability objectives and facilitate the implementation of a new layout design under the terms of the new lease.
 
Scope of works: 90 panels, 11 doors, 200no length of aluminium profiles were dismantled, stripped, reclaimed and recycled by our team.
