Welcoming Wayne to the Komfort team – Q&A!

We are excited to welcome our new Timber Door Sales Manager, Wayne Naylor! We have carried out a little Q&A with Wayne to get an insight into his experience, expertise and plans for our timber door offering.

Great to have you onboard Wayne. Could you tell us a little about your previous job roles and experience within the industry?

Wayne: In my earlier years I worked in aluminium entrance facades, gaining experience in estimating, project managing, surveying and specification processes. From that, my journey led me to the timber doors industry, for which I have now been working in for over a decade.

My previous role was with SAS International as a Senior Estimator. Here I gained a thorough knowledge in fire doors, understanding the technical requirements and recognised standards. During my career I have had the opportunity to work on some really exciting projects, including BWM, Mini and Porsche showrooms; these made for some great site meetings!

We have no doubt your experience will bring great value to our company! So, as you settle into Komfort, what are your plans to expand the timber door offering?

Wayne: I see massive potential to expand this offering for Komfort. I am here to refocus and enhance what Komfort can deliver in terms of their timber door product range, particularly on meeting industry standards and quality whilst also offering a competitive price. Specifically, the fire and acoustic offerings.

Wayne Naylor - Komfort Timber Doors

Quality and service are certainly a focal point for Komfort. Could you tell me a little about the recent considerations and trends that you have noticed within the timber doors market?

Wayne: Naturally it is a challenging time with the pandemic, however we have already started to see the market pick up and the enquiries keep coming in. I am still very much missing those face-to-face meetings though!

Of course fire ratings are a key topic of conversation for every project. Designers and manufacturers are all following stringent requirements, not taking any risks and new tests are being continuously carried out.

Yes, we all can’t wait for ‘normality’ to return! So tell us, what made you want to work with Komfort?

Wayne: I have been interested in what Komfort are doing from a competitor’s perspective, as they are very established and have always been a big player in the market. When this position arose, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to gain further experience within an industry that I love. As well as being able to offer something new and promising to Komfort.

That all sounds great and the feelings are mutual. Can you name one of your greatest career achievements or most memorable moments?

Wayne: Whilst working in the Automatic door industry at Gretsch Unitas, I was heavily involved in the prestigious BBC Broadcasting House project. Here we removed all of the existing doors and replaced them with automatic doors. The project was completed within a tight timeframe and to the highest standard; I even received personal recognition from the client/ Building Manager for my work involved.

Okay so just to summarise, what value will you add to Komfort’s customers?

Wayne: Over the years I have gained a huge amount of experience and expertise in timber doors, including their acoustic and fire performance. I can be confident on working across all project types and am excited for the challenge! I am also looking forward to touching base with my network and building on this.

Thank you very much for your time Wayne! It was great to learn a little more about you and we look forward to continuing to do so. Best of luck in the new role!
