Meet one of our CAD Technicians, Marcelle
At Komfort, our strength lies in our people. Our people are the technical experts who bridge the gap between architectural concepts and physical reality. Today, we're sitting down with one of our CAD Technicians, Marcelle Rowe, to reflect on his first year with the team, the complexities of glazing and the exciting future of the industry.

What do you enjoy most about working in this industry?
This is my first time working with glazing, so learning the limitations of different glass types and how to best utilise them within our systems has been eye-opening. I enjoy collaborating with clients and colleagues to produce clear, well-understood technical drawings.
Specifically, being able to work with both fire and non-fire-rated systems creates a dynamic and challenging workflow that has helped me grow during my first year.
What are you excited about most for Komfort’s future?
The future for Komfort is very bright. I look forward to the types of projects we will be involved in and the unique challenges they may entail. Regarding the business’s direction: since we work with internal glazing systems, the sky is the limit for where we can be specified. Personally, I would like to see Komfort take a step into the world of indoor sports facilities.
What is the most rewarding project you have been involved with?
So far, the most exciting project I’ve been involved with has to be the Oriel Eye Hospital. This large-scale project implemented a mix of Komfort’s fire-rated and non-fire-rated systems, making it a hands-on and complex task that required deep attention to detail and adaptability. While it offered my toughest challenge yet, I found the experience incredibly informative and valuable.
One sentence of advice for people entering the industry
When entering a new field that interests you, take the time to process information in a way that is easily digestible for you, and never hesitate to ask the questions necessary to reach a complete understanding and feel confident in your work.
Thank you Marcelle for everything you do.
