A Call for Accountability – Fantastic Learning’s from Komfort’s Latest Call In Event

Understanding “Call-In”:
“Call-In” is a series of working groups designed to develop best practices for EDI. This initiative, was set out by our very own Priti Gadani and Ellie Lawford who approached Eleanor Strange (AEW Architects), Louise Grimes (M1NT Studio Ltd), Jenny Perrie, Matthew Gavin & Martina Mastrangeli (HORIZON Fletcher Rae), Aida Ahmad (BDP) and Jonah Speaks (Turner & Townsend) to lead on important subject matters. Identified by the first fact finding meeting, Komfort and the others, will be leading four sessions in 2025 focusing on Allyship, Competence, Accountability and Investment. These sessions will address unconscious bias and the impact of power dynamics on inclusion.
Special thank you to Alice Parker from Ridge & Partners for hosting this event.

Accountability Call In
What a fantastic evening! We recently hosted our third Call-In Event with individuals across all different disciplines in the industry with the discussion centered on the critical topic of ‘Accountability’.
A huge thank you to Priti Gadini for leading the conversation alongside Ellie Lawford, and to Jim Smith for introducing the topic with such clarity.
The discussion was brilliant, offering numerous takeaways that we can apply to both our professional and everyday lives. Key themes included the importance of learning from past experiences and a clear understanding of our individual roles and responsibilities. The conversation delved into a crucial question for our industry: At what stage of the RIBA Plan of Work does your accountability fall and where do the gaps exist? We are currently compiling the findings from this valuable discussion into a full white paper, watch this space!
It has been a true privilege to collaborate on these events with our colleagues from HORIZON fletcher|rae, BDP (Building Design Partnership Ltd), AEW Architects, and M1NT Studio Ltd. We are already looking forward to our next event in November focusing on INVESTMENT.
