The Smith Cooper Project
East Midlands based DSP (Interiors) Ltd. were appointed to orchestrate the planning, design and fit out for the relocation of accountancy and business advisory firm Smith Cooper’s Nottingham office.
The Brief in Brief
Taking into account the various requirements, all spaces were mapped out within the constraints of the building footprint. The design integrated the spaces seamlessly, incorporating the level differences within flowing circulation spaces.
With space requirements, staff numbers, storage needs, etc., established, it was then necessary to assess the suitability of the premises. A particular challenge was the sub-division of the existing units, the undulating site and consequent difference in levels. Another major challenge was incorporating all fit out works within a controlled budget and tight timescales.
The interior design scheme reflects the nature of the clientele, blending contemporary design with traditional finishes. Acoustics were also high on the agenda given the sensitivity of client confidentiality; acoustic partitions, quilting and flooring treatment was integrated throughout crucial areas. Komfort supplied Polar vision partitions, acoustic stud and track partitions and American Walnut doors and frames with customised film applied to the glass.
The end result
From the very beginnings of the project, at specification stage and right through to completion, they worked alongside us making the process from design to installation much simpler. Another advantage of using Komfort was their ability to provide a vast range of the services we required, enabling us to manage our installation program more effectively. Our client is delighted with the results and we would have no hesitation in partnering with Komfort on future projects.
